HAMBURG HARBOUR
Luca Locatelli portrays the port of Hamburg for GEO Magazine, where he was able to access the Hamburg Altenwerder Hansaport, which is part of the Port of Hamburg and has been Germany's largest port terminal for bulk materials (iron ore and coal) since 1977. The seagoing ships at Sandauhafen are unloaded with the help of four cranes with a payload of 38 tonnes each. Depending on the size of the ship and the type of goods, up to 100,000 tonnes can be unloaded in 24 hours on the ship's quay, which is more than 760 metres long.
